Rent a kayak or launch your kayak at River Safaris. From here you can stay in secluded canals or paddle 3/4 mile to the main river. From there it’s about 1.5 miles to the Springs. Most boats stay in the channel and away from shore as well as travel at slow speed so it’s easy to safely paddle the river without fear of boat traffic. Kayaks are a great platform for fishing along the banks of the river and for quietly finding birds and other wildlife living along the shore or beneath the surface. For those with a little more stamina, Halls River, Mason Creek, Battle Creek and the Salt River are within range and offer sights not seen by normal boats due to their shallow water. Just remember it’s the same distance coming back as it was to get there so don’t expend all your energy on a 1 way trip.
