Cruise to a Homosassa Waterfront Restaurant
Homosassa has 8 waterfront restaurants within a 15 minute bioat ride from River Safaris. Rent a pontoon boat and visit one or all of them.
Monkey Bar
The Monkey Bar at Florida Cracker is the closest restaurant to River Safaris. It’s at the junction of Pepper Creek and the Homosassa River and you have to drive by it in order to get to the river from River Safaris. They are open from breakfast to dinner and serve a variety of food including pizza, burgers and ice cream. The Monkey Bar has been an Old Homosassa destination for decades as it overlooks Monkey Island. They have a full liquor bar and accepts cash and credit cards.
Macraes
The Shed at Macraes is an even older Old Homosassa waterfront bar. The Macraes are one of the oldest families in Homosassa and the Shed is almost as old. You’ll find traditional bar food like chicken fingers and burgers. There’s usually live music on the weekends. The bar is beer and wine only. There are ample docks to come by water. You can also find bait at their bait shop or stay in one of their log cabin type hotel rooms.
