Homosassa pontoon boat fishing

Fishing from one of our rental pontoon boats gives you and the whole family an enjoyable opportunity to share a day on the water together. The boats are stable, hold the entire family, have shade and you can bring your coolers. You can fish along the Homosassa River and the flats of the Gulf of Mexico. Fish with live bait (shrimp is the universal choice), cut bait (chunks of mullet or ladyfish) or artificial. Whatever your skill level this is a fun way to fish. Expect opportunities to catch ladyfish and jack crevalle and the occassional juvenille tarpon in the river close to our marina, venture to the Gulf to find seatrout, mangrove snapper, grunts, cobia, shark and snapper with seasonal opportunities at spanish mackeral.

Kayak Fishing

Launching a kayak from our marina or using our mothership to get you close to the islands will give you opportunities at snook and redfish. Fishing the tides is key to these fish and they stay tucked up against the islands making it difficult to get to for all but the shallowest draft vessels. They’re also pretty spooky when it comes to loud noises so the quietness of your approach from a kayak is perfect. You’ll be heading up the Salt River to the Little Homosassa or St Martin’s River which is treacherous going for a regular boat but easy going for a kayak. Cut bait and shrimp are the go to baits for redfish but the skilled angler will want to try artificials as well
