This is perfect for couples or singles who want an affordable airboat tour. Our airboats hold up to 5 guests on two rows of seats. When you don’t have enough folks to fill a boat you can join others just like you and enjoy Homosassa by airboat.

What you should expect from an airboat tour

Diverse Wildlife Sightings

Our airboat tours will take you by Monkey Island where you are guaranteed to see the monkeys playing in their newly constructed habitat. From there we’ll be on the Homosassa River for a short ride before we hit the backwaters and estuary. On the river you may see manatees and dolphin. In the less travelled and undisturbed backwaters you’ll see wildlife that normally shies away from man: alligators, turtles, otter, birds of various species like heron, eagle and egret. When your captain sees something truly unique they’ll shut the engine down and quietly drift in place to maximize your exposure to the animal.

Over 500 native plant species

You’ll drive by cypress heads, wetland hammocks and ealgrass fields, in total our area is home to over 500 native plants. Find native fauna and flora undisturbed by the construction you left behind on the mainland. On this airboat tour you’ll be driving by pristine Old Florida wetlands and islands.

Open Air Excitement

An airboat is an open hull with 2 rows of seating, a large engine and nothing else. The wind will be in your face, you’ll be skimming over the top of the water and not only see but feel the beauty of Nature. We provide earmuffs which will drown out the noise of the engine and leave you in the solitude of your own thoughts. If you choose the 90 minute ride you’ll be in the shallows of the Gulf of Mexico where you’ll smell the salt in the air and may feel the light spray on your face. This is not a boring and sterile trip inside a walled vehicle, you are sitting in the open air experiencing everything Nature is presenting on that day and that airboat ride.

Our Airboat Tour Captains

All of our captains maintain active licenses through the United States Coast Guard (OUPV) and have airboat endorsements. They pass drug tests throughout the year and adhere to the strictest safety standards. In addition to their boat handling competency and safety mindedness, each of them has expert knowledge of Homosassa and its history. Their goal is to show you all that the Homosassa waterways have to offer and they drive you to places you just can’t see by any other method. For them, this is a labor of love not necessity. When you have a captain who’s having fun driving you, the fun will pass through to you ensuring you not only see our exceptional wildlife but you have an enjoyable airboat ride while doing so. They’ll ratchet the excitement level of the ride up or down depending on your desires.
